Ben Lomand offers Postini virus and spam filtering to our web hosting customers.  This protection tool allows you to screen your e-mails for harmful viruses and unwanted spam.

The e-mail filtering service enables you to set up your own message center in Postini with your e-mail address. Once you've created your personal message center, unwanted junk mail and virus infected messages will be quarantined where you can review them without damaging your computer.  The Postini software uses the leading server-based virus detector, which is updated regularly to respond to changing virus configurations, ensuring that new and more dangerous viruses are confronted before they infect your system.

Once you've set up the service, you'll receive periodic notices in your inbox alerting you when messages have been quarantined in your message center. The notice will also have a link to your message center on the Postini system so you can review the e-mails at your convenience. To review the quarantined message, simply go to your Postini message center.

Because the Postini filtering system is so flexible, our users control which messages you want filtered before they reach your inbox. You can select various “Filter Sensitivity” levels for the filter tool as well as set up an “Approved Senders” List (e-mails from senders you approve, so they are not filtered) or “Blocked Senders” List (messages from addresses you designate to be quarantined).

When you sign up for the Postini filtering service, you'll receive a Postini e-mail filtering message in your inbox. The e-mail will give you instructions to set up your own message center on the Postini website using your e-mail address. Simply follow the instructions in this e-mail to set up the filtering service. You can also change the filter levels or filter address lists after you've set up the service.
