Frequently Asked Questions
ASP / Cold Fusion
Q: Why does FrontPage Manager disable other tools and FTP access within
WebSiteOS?
A: The FrontPage extensions are a set of sensitive files. Other
products may interfere with the program and cause corruptions.
Q: Can I have FTP functionality along with the extensions installed?
A: Although this is not recommended, it is possible.
Q: Is FrontPage Manager the same thing as FrontPage?
A: No, FrontPage Manager simply installs the necessary system files for the
FrontPage application, which is installed on your PC, to interact with our
servers.
Q: How long does it take for the extensions to install on the system?
A: This depends on whether or not there is existing content on the account.
If the public directory is empty, the system will install the extensions
under a minute; however, if content exists the time will vary. A larger content size will result in a greater time
requirement for the system to install the files, even though the manager
will report it as installed. It is a safe assumption that a website with
50MB of files would take up to 30 minutes for the installation.
Q. What is the unlock tab for?
A. The FrontPage extensions could get
locked if the FrontPage application does not disconnect appropriately or if
multiple users try to connect to it. To remove the lock files, go to the
unlock tab, place the radio button to “Unlock FrontPage Web” and click
“Next.” This will resolve the issue.
